By Air

Flying direct to Granada Airport

The Granada Airport (GRX) lies just 15 kilometers away from the city centre (buses and taxis are available) and has several daily flights to and from Madrid and Barcelona. Also, a number of low cost airlines operate directly to/from UK, Germany, France and Italy.

  • Inside Spain: Barcelona, Girona, Madrid, Melilla, and Palma de Mallorca.
  • From Great Britain: Liverpool, London (Stansted), and Nottingham (East Midlands).
  • From Germany: Frankfurt (Hahn).
  • From Italy: Bologna, and Milano (Bergamo).

Airlines with connection to Granada:

There is a direct bus from the airport to the Conference Centre Hall. Route is: Airport, Bus Station, La Caleta, Constitución Avenue, Gran vía, and Conference Centre Hall. Busstops are at the arrivals area of the airport.

Flying direct to Malaga Airport

Málaga airport (AGP), about one hour's drive from Granada, provides connections to most European cities as well as some intercontinental destinations.

Málaga Airport to Malaga Bus and Train Station

Frequent bus Services from the Airport to Malaga City Service No. 19 there are available. This is a Courtesy Bus and its Bus stop is situated right hand side outside the Terminal 2.

The first bus connects the Airport with Málaga city; this service runs every half an hour, but is not very advisable as it takes a long time to get to the Bus station, depending on the local traffic situation and rush hours; furthermore, there is an suburban train right outside the Airport building, running from Malaga city to Fuengirola and which brings the visitor swiftly to his destination. From the Airport to Malaga bus and train station every 1/2 hour (first bus: 7:00am, and last bus: 12:00am). From Malaga bus and train station to the Airport every 1/2 hour (first bus: 6:30am, and last bus: 11:30pm).

Málaga City to Granada City

It is not usual to catch a train from Malaga to Granada mainly because of the change at Bobadilla Station which can take a long time.

There are hourly buses connecting Málaga to Granada. First you get a bus or taxi from the Malaga Airport to Malaga Bus Station. There is a bus to Granada every 30 minutes from 7:00am until 9:00pm (except 8:00pm). The price is about 9 €. It takes 1 and a half hours.To buy tickets online visit www.alsa.es. You can check times and prices and even choose your seats.

Granada Bus Station is just outside of town, so you will have to get a taxi or a bus into the centre.

Flying direct to Madrid Airport

Once in Madrid-Barajas airport, you can take airport bus (one each 15 minutes) to Plaza de Colon (last stop), then subway to Sur bus station (subway stop named Méndez Álvaro). There is a lot of daily departs (visit www.alsa.es). You can also take the metro from the airport to the subway station named "Méndez Álvaro". Trips takes 4.45 hours. Once in Granada bus station, take a taxi that will leave you at your hotel, or bus into the centre.


By Train

Granada railway station is located in city centre, and there are daily trains to/from Madrid and Barcelona. Also, there are regular connections with Sevilla and Almería.
